Senior Technology Project Manager
Job purpose:
Reporting to GCT EMEA Portfolio Manager, the Senior Technology Project Manager will provide support for project scoping, planning, execution, communications and reporting on multiple regional application technology projects.
This professional is expected to utilize an understanding of our client organization, Consumer Business policies and strategy, application technology, infrastructure and project management skills to facilitate the implementation of varies application technology projects to meet the Business objectives.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Technology Project Manager will lead multiple minor/major scale projects simultaneously, with responsibilities comprised of the following components:
Business
- Coordinate with Technology teams to identify the scope of work
- Collaborate with knowledgeable and demanding stakeholders to establish project plans for projects, ensure that they meet the agreed plans with the Business, regulatory, compliance, technology release requirements
- Coordinate with Technology and other functional teams to deliver projects as per agreed timeline and escalate issue as needed
- Assist with resource requirements for key projects by partnering with project managers, leads of Development teams to understand scope of effort, deliverables, and project plans
- Assist with maintaining coherent and concise communications detailing the scope, progress and results of project underway
Project Management
- Responsible for managing the documentation follow the PMO process that includes assessing, creating and gaining signoff of documents, managing risks and issues logs, obtain appropriate approvals on time
- Provide in-depth support with interpretive thinking to define problems and develop innovative solutions
- Follow up on open items in a timely fashion to ensure projects stay on track
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of how own area and others collectively integrate to contribute towards achieving project objectives
- Oversee Project plans and help ensure they meet business needs as described in the Business Requirements documents
- Ensure all stakeholders are identified and included in scope definition activities; understand the project schedule and key milestones
- Work with Project Sponsors and a Portfolio Managers to document business case/cost benefit analysis
- Work with a Portfolio Manager to ensure that project costs are within the Program budget
- Monitor project commitment from those assigning resources
- Create the project risk management plan
- Apply/demonstrate advanced understanding of supported areas
- Persuade and influence others through solid communication and diplomacy skills
- Escalate project risks to the Portfolio Leaders, or Project Sponsor, when and as appropriat
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5+ years’ experience with technology and/or project management related responsibilities in a financial services institution is required and
- Project manager certification is a plus
- The successful candidate will have experience interacting with knowledgeable and demanding audiences at varying levels of management
- Demonstrable success in coordinating large-scale projects involving geographically and functionally diverse stakeholders is required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to succinctly convey information to senior management are expected
- The candidate is expected to demonstrate flexibility, versatility and an ability to shepherd multiple concurrent priorities to completion, seeking guidance as necessary
