As an Accountant, you will engage in financial processes and manage day-to-day accounting operations for our European offices - mainly Berlin and Rotterdam. Your role will mainly involve transactional duties, such as customer invoicing and collections, processing vendor invoices and payments, maintaining accounts receivable/payable, reconciling bank accounts, managing the general ledger, addressing vendor and customer queries, and other related tasks. You will be responsible for upholding accounting policies and procedures and will collaborate with our global finance team.

Potential responsibilities include:

Accounts Receivable

Client onboarding.
Payment processing.
Following up on outstanding balances.
Reviewing account histories and addressing billing queries with clients.
Issuing invoices.

Accounts Payable

Reviewing and entering bills.
Processing expense reimbursements.
Managing timely payments while overseeing cash flow.
Maintaining vendor records.
Keeping supporting documentation and classifying expenses.

General Ledger

Preparing and posting journal entries.
Reconciling daily bank statements to ensure transaction accuracy.
Preparing monthly reconciliations.
Assisting with monthly closures.
Supporting audits and tax filings, including VAT submissions.
Maintaining the accounting manual and focusing on continuous process improvement.
Ad-hoc projects.

Our requirements:

BA or MA in accounting, or equivalent practical experience.
3 + years of proven experience in similar accounting or finance roles.
Experience with popular accounting ERP systems.
A strong grasp of financial and accounting principles.
Fluency in English (C1 +) and German (C1 +). Experience in finance and/or accounting in the Netherlands would be an asset.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
